LITURGY COMMITTEE - MINISTERS OF THE WORD

Join in proclaiming the Word of the Lord! Readers serve as Ministers of the Word, proclaiming God's Word, and as commentators for weekend, holy day, and special liturgies. Willingness to be assigned to any weekend Mass (special conditions considered, e.g. children's participation in CLW or need of church baby-sitting services) and volunteering for holy days/special liturgies. Scheduling considerations include regard of family members serving in other ministries, e.g. ushers, Eucharistic Ministers, choir, altar servers. Intent is to have families celebrate liturgy together. Previous experience not required (training and lector preparation book provided), but attendance at annual meeting in October is. Normally scheduled to read/commentate approximately every other week - depending upon total number of readers.
